Solutions is pleased to announce the selection of Parasuco Jeans for
its innovative, educational television series, “World’s
Best.” They will be featured in a segment about
“Men’s and Women’s Fashion.”
Parasuco Jeans has become known internationally for designing some of
the most fashion- forward denim wear. With leading-edge designs and
unique fabric finishes, each piece of Parasuco clothing is full of sex
appeal; which is the nature of all of the company’s designs. Each
pair of jeans features a personality of its own, making a statement for
individualism. There are jeans with form fitting and form-flattering
cuts, as well as jeans with more intricate detailing such as cutouts,
studs, and embroidery. With a strong fan base and growing celebrity
following, Parasuco Jeans creates some of the world’s best and
most memorable denim designs.
The company president, Salvatore Parasuco, became interested in
defining denim at an early age. Born in Italy, he and his family
immigrated to Canada in 1957. It was in the family’s laundry room
where Salvatore began experimenting with different jean washes. He
purchased jeans wholesale, then he machine-washed them around the clock
to attain a “worn” looking appearance. He then sold them to
his high school classmates at $6 a pair.
Parasuco opened his own store at age 19, and then founded Santana Jeans
(a Canadian line) with three other partners. He innovated
“stretch,” stone-washed, and sandblasted jeans styles. He
was thrilled when his company become the first international jeans
label from Canada in 1988. Since Santana was a brand name that was
already registered to others in the U.S., he changed the
company’s name to “Parasuco Jeans”. Now known for
style and urban sensuality, the line quickly became a leader in the
fashion market.
Today, Parasuco has become even more popular. The company has showrooms
in Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, and Milan. Over the past few years,
the Parasuco brand has developed a cult-like following. Celebrities
have developed a strong interest in the brand, and it is even mentioned
in rap songs. Parasuco seems to be the brand of choice at many
Hollywood events, as the 2004 American Idol contestants wore the brand
as they performed during this year’s finale. Other celebrity fans
of Parasuco are Avril Lavigne, Matchbox Twenty, and Alicia Keys.
Parasuco Jeans dressed the famous Grand Prix Grid Girls for the 2004
Canadian Grand Prix, and co-hosted a pre-party in 2003 for the
celebrities’ part of the 5th Annual Young Hollywood Awards.
